The Marie Curie shop in Church Walk, Caterham had some VIP visitors yesterday, Thursday 21st February, when Crystal Palace goalies, Lewis Price and David Gregory visited the shop to meet fans and sign autographs. The goalies were lending their support to the charity to try and encourage local people to donate a few hours of their time each week by volunteering at the shop. Afterwards, volunteer press officer for Marie Curie, Karen Green, said: "It was great to have the two goalies from Crystal Palace coming along, so the Marie Curie shop was in safe hands! Having them there attracted people who had never been in the shop before and helped to raise awareness of the charity. It also gave a a real boost to the lovely volunteer staff and donations of items for the shop were definitely up on the day." Both goalies were delighted with their gifts of a bottle of wine donated by Waitrose and a bouquet of flowers donated by Floral Gallery. The shop stocks a wide range of high quality donated goods at great value prices with something to suit everyone. Donations of clothing, books and bric-a-brac are always welcome. Marie Curie Cancer Care provides free home nursing care for people with terminal cancer and other illnesses. There are currently 16 Marie Curie Nurses working across Surrey, making it possible for hundreds of terminally ill people to live their last days at home, surrounded and supported by their loved ones.
