The Caterham Festival De- Fest event now has a fabulous line-up of acts ready to entertain the crowds at de Stafford School in Caterham this June. The two-day event on Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th June will be offering something for everyone, whatever your age or taste in music.
Saturday will see some cracking young bands taking to the stage and will also host the 'Tandridge has Talent' and 'Miss Festival' events. Turn to the centre spread for more information on how to enter the first ever Miss Festival competition.
The band Silk Fret, performing their own material, will be the first act on stage when Saturday's event starts at 1pm. Other acts on the day will include Reckless Ambition, Japanese Idol and Paul Saxby, with the popular Blues Brothers Tribute act sure to get people off their seats and dancing!
Off-stage, extreme sports will be on offer, with the mountain boarding European champions performing a display on a 60ft ramp, which members of the public can then try out for just £2. There will also be a 30ft climbing wall waiting to be scaled by those willing to give it a try.
Sunday's programme will be rather more chilled out, with music from the Frankie Roma Frank Sinatra tribute act and music from jazz musician Andy Mayo, the Myke Masters Band and Kit Packham providing 'Easy Listening' music for a lazy Sunday afternoon.
Organiser, Mark Jones, said: "What better way can there be to spend Father's Day than chilling out with a beer listening to some great music, hopefully in the warm sunshine. Buying tickets for DeFest will be the best Father's Day present ever!"
On Sunday there will be plenty to keep the children amused, with a free disco on a second stage plus two birds of prey displays and a puppet show. There will also be side-shows and a walkabout magician with tricks up his sleeve to amuse the crowd.
DeFest on Saturday will be between 1pm and 9.30pm and Sunday's entertainment takes place between 12pm and 6pm. Visitors will need to bring their own chairs, blankets and picnics although food and drink will be available at the event. Tickets cost £5.00 for adults and £3.50 for children age 16 under for each day and can be booked at www.defest.com
