Tandridge Voluntary Service Council (TVSC) has been successful in its bid to Surrey County Council's Local Committee for Tandridge for laptops for use in The Community Hub in Oxted. TVSC manages The Community Hub above the library. There is a large meeting room regularly used by Voluntary, Community and Faith Sector organisations for meetings, training sessions and outreach. The demand for these services has and is continuing to grow and to make sure they are accessible to everyone TVSC needs permanent access to laptops. The bid was supported by Councillor Sally Marks, Caterham Valley Division, and was approved by Tandridge Local Committee this month. Sue Cox, general manager of TVSC said: "This is brilliant news. Thanks to Sally's support and the grant from the Local Committee, TVSC can now purchase five new laptops together with software for permanent use in The Community Hub. They will be put to good use immediately by volunteers attending free IT training in the Hub and they will be used by the Job Club at its weekly sessions." Cllr Sally Marks added: " I am always happy to try and support the Voluntary, Community and Faith sectors in Tandridge as much as I can. TVSC offers a great service and I know the laptops will be put to good use." |
