Medieval fun in Church Walk Shopping Centre
Published: Friday, 26 April 2013 06:58

On Saturday 20th April Church Walk Shopping Centre, Caterham celebrated St. George's Day in beautiful sunshine.

Shelley Filippi, Church Walk Centre Manager, said: "Holding the event on a Saturday enabled children, who would otherwise be at school, to enjoy the celebrations". Children had the opportunity to meet St. George in his full suit of armour on his trusty steed with members of the Far Isles Medieval Society to learn about English history. Sir Laugh-a-lot provided music throughout the day and Sonia Hunt, Caterham's Town Crier, heralded the events. The proceeds raised from the balloon modelling and face painting went to the Ambulance Service Benevolent Fund.
