It's 30 years since St Catherine's Hospice started providing expert care for local people facing life with a terminal illness, and from hair styles to mobile phones much has moved on.

But it's not just fashion and fads that change, life does too. And whether you've bought a house, moved in with a partner or perhaps become a grandparent, you may want to consider whether your wishes are protected in an up to date Will.

St Catherine's Hospice is helping local people tick this job off their list with Make a Will Fortnight (6th-17th May). The initiative offers the chance to take professional legal advice from local solicitors to make or update an existing simple Will in return for a donation to the work of St Catherine's.

Claire Irving, Fundraising Manager at St Catherine's Hospice says, "Often people leave this important piece of life admin at the bottom of their to do list; but in most cases it is relatively straightforward to put in place and reassuring to know it's completed.

"We hope people see this as a handy way to update or make their Will, which also helps us to continue to care for local people who are facing life with a terminal illness.

"You don't need to remember St Catherine's in your Will to take advantage of the scheme, but solicitors are able to advise on the tax effectiveness of leaving a charitable gift, of whatever amount, if you wish. Currently, one in four of all our patients are cared for thanks to the generosity of people leaving the hospice gifts in their Will."
