Race Night raises hundred for local charities
Published: Friday, 03 May 2013 08:29

On Friday, 26th April The Whyteleafe Tavern hosted a Race Night which, thanks to the generosity of its customers, raised £900 which was divided between St. Catherine's Hospice and the Maypole Project for children with learning difficulties.

The entertainment continued on Sunday 28th April with the St. George's Day celebrations. There was a fancy dress competition for the children, face painting, a bouncy castle and live music by Brightwhite, all laid on for customers by landlord Tom Dempsey. A visit by Sonia Hunt the Town Crier gave the day an extra special sense of occasion!
