Tandridge Trust staged a Taster Day on Saturday 27th April, where visitors could 'try something new' at the Soper Hall in Caterham. There was a raft of arts and group exercise activities on offer, from jewellery making, clay modelling, singing or watercolour painting on the arts side to Hatha or Astanga Yoga, Contemporary, Jazz and Creative Dance. There was also the latest dance craze Bokwa and Cheerfit on the group exercise side! Children got involved with 'Little Dance' creative movement, 'Little Soccer' and 'Create' art and craft workshops specially designed for them. Some of the younger visitors also had a try at the clay modelling, which was open to all ages and was one of the biggest hits of the day's activities. The Trust also staged an art exhibition as part of the taster day. All work displayed was created by students who attend their two watercolour and their life drawing classes which run weekly during termtime at Tandridge Leisure Centre, Oxted. The standard of the work displayed was immensely impressive, although some of the students have very little experience! Lisa Phillips, Culture Activities Manager for The Trust and organiser of the event said: "The day's activities were very much enjoyed by all who came along. "All the feedback we received was extremely positive with requests for some activities, not currently part of our programme, to become regular courses."
