A man in his 50s has been charged with rape following an incident in Whyteleafe at the weekend.

The incident occurred during the early hours of Saturday, 18th May at Whyteleafe Recreational Ground.

The victim, a woman in her mid-20s, continues to be supported by specialist officers as the investigation progresses following the incident.

Colin Andrew Ford, 58, from Fernhurst Road in Croydon has been charged with rape and has been remanded in custody to appear at South West Surrey Magistrates Court Guildford) today, Tuesday, 21st May.
