At the invitation of East Surrey MP Sam Gyimah, Lord Green, UK Trade Minister and former Chairman & Chief Executive of HSBC, will be coming to East Surrey with his team of experts from UK Trade & Investments to explain to local businesses how they can boost exports and access foreign markets. The potential opportunity is enormous; firms helped by UKTI, of which 90% are small and medium-sized, typically go on to win additional sales of £100,000 within 18 months. Representatives from UK Export Finance, Barclays International Business and local firms with a track record of winning in overseas markets will also be on hand to offer further insights into the process. The breakfast event will be held at 8.30am at the Surrey National Golf Club on Friday 28th June 2013, and will cover: The opportunities to export, and how firms can take advantage; What businesses need to know to get started and win customers; Financial guarantees available from the Government; Additional Government support for exporting firms. Commenting on the event, East Surrey MP Sam Gyimah said, "I am delighted that Lord Green has accepted my invitation to speak to local businesses. With the lack of growth in the Eurozone, finding new export markets is essential for UK businesses to grow and help get our economy back on track. I would encourage as many firms as possible to attend the event and explore what overseas markets can offer."
