The Caterham Independent's quiz master, Alec Herbert, had a dream come true recently when he was invited to The Oval cricket ground to meet his cricketing idol, Alec Stewart. The meeting had been arranged by ex-Surrey CCC player and team-mate of Alec Stewart, Chris Bullen. Chris saw Alec Herbert featured in 'In the Spotlight' last November. In the feature Alec stated that the person he would most like to meet was Alec Stewart, England's mostcapped test cricketer.

After the meeting on Thursday 9th May Alec said: "Alec Stewart is an absolute gentleman and most of the conversation centred, quite naturally, around cricket. One fact I did learn was that Alec made his debut for Surrey in 1981 at Cheltenham, my place of birth and home town for sixty years. I am so grateful to Chris Bullen for setting the meeting up."
