Church Walk hosts Healthy Lifestyle Day

On Saturday 22nd June local health organisations put on displays and met shoppers at a Healthy Lifestyle Day at Church Walk Shopping Centre in Caterham Valley.

The Douglas Brunton Centre highlighted its services including the new Wellbeing Centre for people with dementia and their carers, the 'Men in Sheds' Project and other services available at the centre. First Community Health & Care were available to help people with concerns about memory problems and Caterham Dene Hospital had information about inpatient wards, the minor injuries unit, rapid assessment clinic and League of Friends.

The Stroke Project was also featured as well as the Tandridge Befriending Scheme which has a joint project with the NHS to help support people with health problems in their homes. The Befriending Scheme was looking to recruit more volunteers.

Tandridge Voluntary Services Council were promoting their 'Working Together' project, volunteer recruitment, disability advice, Caterham Car Scheme and the Haven Club in Lingfield
