Croydon Jubilee, Coulsdon and Caterham Rotary Clubs are urging participants to put their best feet forward and get involved with the Happy Valley Walk next month to raise vital funds for Marie Curie Cancer Care. On Sunday 22nd September you can walk to remember a loved one, or simply enjoy the lovely Surrey countryside as you stroll through the quiet country lanes and across the farm tracks in the surrounding area. It is a perfect day out for people of all fitness levels, and all funds raised will make a real difference to the lives of terminally ill patients in the area. Beginning at the Fox public house on Coulsdon Common, the Happy Valley Walk winds its way through scenic country lanes and tracks. Participants can choose either a three mile walk for light strollers or a seven mile walk for the adventurous. The organisers are looking for lots of energetic walkers of all ages from schools, clubs, churches, youth organisations, sports teams and businesses. Canine buddies are also more than welcome to join in the fun and even have their own sponsorship forms! Registration on the day takes place between 9.30 am–11.30 am. The registration fee is £10 for adults and £5 for children under 16. This has always been a very successful fundraising event for Surrey and the organisers would like to make 2013 even better, in order to provide more hours of Marie Curie nursing care for local people. Simon Burrell (Chairman of the Rotary Club of Croydon Jubilee) said: "This is a chance to share experiences with friends and family as you stroll through the beautiful countryside. The Happy Valley Walk has such a lovely atmosphere and all the Rotary Marshals you meet will encourage you along the way."
