On Tuesday 1st October, Paul Falkner and Kosta Ilev, co-owners of La Fiaba restaurant, were given Mohican- style haircuts in the open air outside the restaurant in the High Street, Caterham-on-the-Hill. The pair were having the wacky haircuts to raise funds for Marie Curie Cancer Care. Paul said: "I am very aware of the wonderful work that the Marie Curie nursing service provides. I lost my uncle to cancer when he was only 40 years-old and he did not receive any palliative care treatment. The only nursing he received was when he was in hospital and I felt he could have had better care. Kosta and I felt that we wanted the money to go towards funding locally the amazing work that the Marie Curie nurses provide." After the haircut friends and customers were invited inside for complimentary drinks and pizza. So far Paul and Kosta have raised £650 towards their target of £1,000 for Marie Curie. Commenting on his new look Paul said: "When I was eight-years-old I dreamed of having a Mohican haircut but my mother would not let me have one, so today has seen my dream come true!"
