The Warlingham pair of Keith Ewin (55) and Eric Stevenson (60) are the new Surrey Squash Doubles Champions in the Vintage 55+ category.
In a round robin contest played at the RAC Club in Epsom, Ewin and Stevenson from Warlingham Squash and Racketball Club, beat all other competitors in some tight and thrilling matches. Played on the RAC’s special doubles sized courts the vintage players exhibited all the skills and tactics to be expected with a century of playing experience between them on display in every game.
Recently voted the Tandridge Sports Club of the Year, Warlingham Squash and Racketball Club have since been nominated for the Surrey County Sports Award in the 50+ category.
“How can we lose?” joked Club Chairman Rod Gemmell.
"With excellent examples of fitness and talent such as Keith and Eric more and more of our members are enjoying a long and healthy playing career much later than would have been expected a generation ago”.
