The switching on of the Cedar Tree lights on Saturday 23rd November was more popular than ever with approximately 700 people attending to sing carols and see Father Christmas switch on the lights.
£433.75 was raised for the Caterham Community First Responders.
Dawn Lewin, Team Leader for the Caterham Community First Responders said: “We would like to thank residents of Caterham for their generosity and the Parish Council for organising the event. This money will really help us continue to provide an emergency response ahead of the NHS Ambulance in Caterham.”
Sarah Burningham, Chairman of the Parish Council said: “This was a true community event with a lot of people giving up their time and resources. In particular I would like to thank Blends Catering for providing the mince pies, The Caterham Arms for the mulled wine, Vivace Pianos for the piano accompaniment, the Scouts for helping on the evening, Buxton Homes for the use of their car park, Audley school for the staging and the Caterham Community Choir and St Francis school for the wonderful singing of carols.”
