Netherne commuters support Children in Need
Published: Thursday, 05 December 2013 06:58

On Friday 15th November, commuters from Netherne-onthe- Hill dug deep into their pockets in support of Children in Need. All journeys to and from Coulsdon South station on the Netherne Community Bus that day were free, with passengers being asked to contribute whatever they could towards the Children in Need campaign.

Netherne resident and Community Bus user, Rajen Shah said: "It was great to see the generosity of all the regular commuters, as well as many other passengers who chose not to use their car that day and instead travelled on the Netherne Bus, in some cases for the first time. In total we raised £226!"

Another Netherne resident, local councillor Keith Foreman said: "I needed to go to London that day. What better way to travel than on our local Community Bus, and supporting Children in Need at the same time. It is a fantastic service, and it only took 45 minutes from leaving my front door to get to London Bridge.

I will definitely be using the Bus again!"

For anyone wishing to start using the Netherne Bus, please see the timetable below:

Morning departures from Netherne Drive: 6.40am, 7.10am, 7.38am, 8.00am, 8.25am and 9.10am.

Evening returns from Coulsdon South: 5.30pm, 6.05pm, 6.30pm, 7.00pm, 7.20pm and 7.40pm.
