As part of the apprenticeship campaign he ran earlier in the year (100 apprentices in 100 days) Sam pledged to take on his own apprentice – and he is now hiring! Sam is looking for a bright and enthusiastic apprentice to join his busy office in Westminster starting as soon as possible.
The apprentice will work in Sam’s Westminster office and will be part of the Parliamentary Academy – an organisation that offers non-graduate 18-24 year olds the opportunity to take up a paid, 12 month placement in an MP or Peer’s parliamentary office whilst simultaneously studying for an NVQ in Business & Administration. Apprentices train together as a cohort, allowing them to share their experiences of working for different MPs and political parties in Parliament.
The 12 month apprenticeship in Sam’s office combines 'on the job' training with a formal qualification in Business & Administration. As a key part of his team, the apprentice will gain experience of the varied work he does as the MP for East Surrey, and once a fortnight they will take part in workshops and carry out their study towards an NVQ Level 3 Business & Administration qualification. More details and how to apply can be found at www.samgyimah.com
Speaking about hiring an apprentice, Sam said:
“I am thrilled to be taking on an apprentice in my office. This opportunity offers a great way to earn and learn on the job. I encourage any young person who has an interest in politics but not sure a university degree is for them to get in touch with my office or check my website for more details.”
