On Thursday 28th November the President of Caterham Rotary Club, Peter Lyons, was delighted to present the proceeds of £1,250 from the Rotary Christmas Fayre to Dawn Lewin of The Caterham Community First Responder team. The Caterham Community First Responders provide an emergency response ahead of the NHS Ambulance for 999 emergency calls, which the South East Coast Ambulance Service deem to be 'serious and/or life threatening' or other calls where a fast response will make a difference to the patient. The Responder Groups are totally voluntary but are strictly managed and governed by the South East Coast Ambulance Service who are responsible for the training and governance. The donation from Caterham Rotary will enable the group to fund equipment for a new volunteer who has joined their ranks.
