On Sunday 8th December the young people and adults who give up their time for the Street Youth Centre Steering Group were treated to a sumptuous Christmas lunch cooked by the staff of Street. The Christmas lunch, fun and games was a 'thank you' to the Steering Group for all their hard work during the last year.
Youth and Community Worker, Donna Ware, said: “We have a great team here at Street so we wanted to show our appreciation for their commitment to the club. However, the youngsters move on as they grow up so we are constantly looking for more young people and adult volunteers who have an interest in developing young people to come and work with us. “
Street is open for Drop In Sessions on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 6.30-9pm for teens up to the age of 18. Amongst the services provided is a jobs board and youth workers available to give advice on CV writing and college and job applications. The club also holds accredited baby-sitting courses, cooking skills sessions and sex and sexuality courses. Youngsters also get the opportunity to undertake the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme.
