On Tuesday 10th December, the Caterham, Oxted and Godstone Lions Club welcomed Cherie Callender, the proprietor of Cherry Lodge Care Home in Whyteleafe, into the club. Lion President, Fran Pavely conducted the enrolment procedure during the Lions' monthly business meeting held at the White Hart Barn in Godstone.
Lion, Peter Drysdale, of Oxted Road, Godstone read the Lions Club International Purposes and Tony Gordon, of Tylers Green, Godstone read the Lions Code of Ethics. After these formalities, Cherie was presented with her Lions badge and was congratulated in turn by each member of the club. For several months Cherie has been attending COGS meetings and volunteering her time at its fundraising events.
