The Round Table Ball Organising Committee. On Saturday 18th January Caterham Round Table held a successful charity ball at the Felbridge Hotel in Felbridge raising about £4,000 for local charities. Over 250 people attended and danced the night away. Cllr Beverley Connolly, Chairman of Tandridge Council and her husband Tim both attended, and Tim turned out to be an unexpected expert on the gaming tables, winning the champagne prize for the highest amount raised on roulette and black jack. Simon Edge, Round Table Chairman said: “Round Table is a great organisation, raising thousands of pounds every year for local charities with events such as the fireworks display and the beer festival. This is one of my favourite occasions, to see so many people coming together for a fun evening, whilst raising more money for the charities. I am really proud to have been elected as the chairman this year”. Entertainment included local magician Andrew Kelly with his excellent card tricks. Thousands of pounds in prizes were given out such as a £1,000 diamond donated by J.J. Browne Jewellers, a cold war air raid siren donated by Sussex Police and a David Cameron signed bottle of wine donated by Sam Gyimah MP. The cabaret was provided by Alex Lodge before the popular band Rollacoaster played for over two hours. Round Table Chairman Simon Edge with Cllr. Beverley Connolly. One of the organisers Glen O’Dwyer said: “Once again the Caterham Round Table Ball gave our guests a fantastic evening of fun and entertainment, including magicians and an amazing live band. The room was expertly decorated to bring to life this year’s theme of a Masquerade Ball.
