From left: Tazmin Clayton, Ciara Daniell and Daisy Graham (all aged 10). Parents and friends at The Hawthorns School were treated to a fantastic dance show at The Barn Theatre, Oxted last week. Pupils from The Hawthorns School of Dance have been practising their pirouettes and quickstep to ensure they were all ready to put on a show to impress. For the last few weeks, it has been a real hive of activity at the School of Dance with music blaring out from rehearsals, different dances being choreographed by patient dance teachers, and an array of sparkle and glitter everywhere! Tanya Greenwood, Head of Dance at The Hawthorns, said: “I am so proud of all the children who performed; without their enthusiasm, dedication and energy, the show would never have taken place. Old Hawthornian, Emily Hart. All the children involved thoroughly enjoyed the experience of performing in a professional theatre and hearing the claps and cheers from their appreciative audience.” Many past pupils also returned for the show, some of whom have been attending dance lessons at The Hawthorns since they were fuve years old. Mrs Greenwood said: “It is an honour to watch these young adults dance; their talent is phenomenal and I know the younger pupils learnt a lot from watching them perform.” Old Hawthornian, Grace Addley.
