Former Premiership footballer turned pro boxer Leon McKenzie has a Whyteleafe scaffolding company to thank as he prepares for his next fight. Formark Scaffolding is sponsoring the super-middleweight fighter, known to his fans as Big McK, as he follows in the footsteps of his father Clinton McKenzie (British and European Light Welterweight Champion) and his uncle Duke (three-weight World Champion) - both now training Leon. Formark Managing Director, Mark Coote, said: "Leon is a committed and talented sportsman who has gone through some tough times and we are very proud to be supporting him as he attempts to make a name for himself in the boxing ring. He is a local lad who many Crystal Palace fans will remember from his days at Selhurst Park between 1995 and 2000, so we're confident he is going to get a lot of support." Literally fighting back from experiencing the highs of Premier League football to the lows of prison, with an attempt at suicide in between, Leon returns to the ring at York Hall, Bethnal Green, on Saturday 8th March, with two wins and a draw already under his belt. Tickets are available from MCM Promotions on 07770 166041.
