On the evening of Thursday, 8th July Surrey Police officers returned from Spain where they had sought the extradition of David Baxendale in connection with the murder of Sarah Thomas in Nutfield on 10th May.

They escorted 39-year-old David Baxendale on a flight from Madrid to the UK where the appeared before Guildford Magistrates Court on Friday 9th July charged with the murder of 38-year-old Miss Thomas and was remanded in custody.

A bail hearing is scheduled to take place at Guildford Crown Court on 13th July followed by a preliminary hearing on 16th July.
