Businesses sign up to be Dementia Friendly Champions
Published: Wednesday, 25 June 2014 19:33

Ridge Radio held a Dementia Awareness coffee morning recently at its studio in Croydon Road, Caterham. Manager of Ridge Radio, Mark Jones, invited local business owners along to the event to learn about the part they could play in helping make our community a better place to live for people with dementia.

Nicola Roberts, Director of Surrey Hills Home Help Services, gave a speech dispelling some of the myths associated with dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. She then went on to explain how local businesses and organisations can help to support dementia sufferers and their careers and break down the stigma associated with dementia.

Afterwards, Mark Jones said: “Thank you all for coming along and I hope what you have learned today will encourage you to sign up to become a Dementia Friendly Surrey Champion.” For more information about becoming a Surrey Champion visit www.dementiafriendlysurrey.org.uk
