Caterham on the Hill Parish Council is urging local residents to have their say on Surrey County Council’s latest consultation on changes to local bus services. Last winter, the County Council consulted residents on local bus services generally. Now, they are consulting on specific changes to routes which would take effect from the start of this September. The consultation opened on 11th May, and residents have until 8th June to have their say. The County Council will decide what changes will take place in late June, these will be communicated to residents in July, and the changes will take effect from the start of September. To have your say, you can complete a questionnaire on-line at www.surreycc.gov.uk/transportreview, or complete a paper copy available at SCC Libraries or by ordering one on 0300 200 1003.
Councillor David Gosling, Vice Chairman of the Parish Council said: "Surrey County Council’s proposals include scrapping route 540, cutting services on route 409, and changing the service on route 357. These would have a big impact on Caterham on the Hill and Chaldon commuters, students and shoppers. I urge residents to have their say before the deadline of 8th June. The Parish Council will of course be joining residents in giving our views to the County Council." |
