Best results ever for de Stafford Students all over the country have been opening their GCSE exam results and this year has seen record results at de Stafford School in Caterham. Following the publication of the results on Tuesday 24th August, the school issued the following statement: We are delighted to announce that our GCSE results this year are as follows: 78% Students achieving 5A*-C grades. This represents an increase of 15% on last year. 54% Students achieved 5A*-C grades including English and Maths which is a 10% rise on the 2009 results. Jacob Vibetti will be going on to study his A Levels at Eton and Ami Martins will be joining the 6th Form at Caterham School on an academic scholarship. Caroline Longhurst, Headteacher, stated that: “This year group were a pleasure to work with during their time here in terms of their academic progress, social development and the contribution they made to the school community. It is, therefore, a real pleasure for us to see that their efforts have been rewarded through their success in the GCSE examinations. "These results could not have been achieved without the hard work of the students, the dedication of the staff and support of parents. I wish the students all the best for the future in their chosen post-16 pathway be it at Reigate or East Surrey College, in employment or training. We look forward to welcoming them back to receive their well deserved certificates at our Presentation Evening on 24th November”. This year’s results are the best in de Stafford’s history and provide a definite cause for celebration. They demonstrate a continued and significant improvement in terms of exam performance for the school and are proof that de Stafford is a good school ‘at the heart of the Caterham Community.
