Members of local charity, the Tandridge Community Fund ('TCF') are delighted that Sainsbury's in Warlingham has made TCF its Charity of the Year. The launch is taking place at the store in Limpsfield Road, Chelsham, on Saturday 4th September. Staff will be in fancy dress and there will be a raffle to help promote TCF. A full report and photos will be put onto the Caterham and District Independent website, www.caterham- independent.co.uk Word of the Fund is spreading right across Tandridge. On Friday 13th August a number of prominent guests attended a reception in Dormansland organised to promote TCF in the southern part of the district. One of the TCF Management Panel, Mike Ellis and his soon-tobe wife, Sue hosted the event that was also attended by David Gold, the Patron of the Fund and his fiancé Lesley Manning. TCF Chairman, Mike Moss, said: "The purpose of the evening was to promote the Tandridge Community Fund and persuade our guests to help us spread the word about what we are trying to achieve." During his speech, David Gold shared his enthusiam for the Fund with the guests, emphasising how important he believes it is to help those less fortunate in our own community. Mike said: "The beauty of the Tandridge Community Fund is that it is a fund in perpetuity - the capital we accrue from charitable donations will never be touched. It is the interest that will be distributed to voluntary groups across the Tandridge district as soon as we have the funds available." If you would like more information or would like to make a donation to the Tandridge Community Fund, please telephone Mike Moss, on 01883 713322.
