The Arc in 39 Weston Drive, Caterham on the hill was buzzing with excitement and creativity on Sunday 12th September at the Craft and Beauty Fair 2010. 25 businesses, both local and from further away filled the spacious atrium of the arts and recreation centre, selling and promoting their products that ranged from jewellery and beauty products to food, paintings and ornaments. The fair was particularly popular with ladies who came with their families or met friends to browse and be pampered whilst enjoying the community atmosphere that The Arc has to offer. The event was organized by Denise and Michael Riley who run the website ukcraftfairs.com. Michael said: "This is the first time we have organised a craft fair and it has been a huge success. We have booked three fairs here for next year and we plan to keep the same format as there is a huge range of stalls to provide something for everyone. This is a good opportunity to encourage people to become a 'Friend of The Arc' so that The Arc can receive the funding it needs." Businesses were provided with a chance to promote themselves as Jackie Berry who runs 'Beauty At Home' found. Jackie said: "I've had lots of interest in the business so far and it's easier to explain what the company does by demonstrating and showing my products. It's a lovely venue and the staff are so helpful." For information on becoming a Friend of The Arc call 01883 330380 or email This email address is being protected from spambots.
