Last Saturday, 18th September, Woldingham School hosted a 'Continuing Education' event to promote an exciting new series of lectures and activities for adults this autumn. Visitors had the opportunity to explore the maginificant house and wander around the formal gardens, and listen to a talks on The History of Woldingham School by Dr John Triffitt. Joanna Winstanley, co-ordinator of the Continuing Education programme, said: "We have had lots of people coming to have a look around the school and listen to Dr Triffitt's talks, which are really interesting. We are pleased to be able to offer a service to adults on Saturdays when the school is not being used by our pupils, and hope that will enable lots of people to come along." The lectures feature 'When Government Fails' by Professor David Myddleton on Saturday 9th October; 'Angels Demons and Antimatter' by Anna Starkey on Saturday 6th November; 'Life in an Arctic Environment' by polar explorer, Jim McNeill pm Saturday 13th November and 'Genetic testing for heart disease risk: fact for fiction' by Professor Steve Humphries on Saturday 27th November. The lectures cost £12.00. On the same dates, activities are being held including clay pigeon shooting on 9th October, cost £45 and Ballroom Dancing on 13h November, cost £15.
