Preparations are fully under way for next year's Rotary Bunny Fun Run which will take place in Queen's Park, Caterham-on-the-Hill on the Sunday before Easter, 17th April 2011. Last year's event raised over ¡ê2,500, with ¡ê1,500 going to St. Catherine's Hospice and ¡ê1,000 to various other charities. Four hundred Easter eggs were given away at Queen's Park, one to every finisher in the 1k Fun Run and the 5k race. One of the organisers, Richard York of Caterham Rotary Club, said: "We had runners and walkers of all shapes and sizes, with special congratulations going to the 'Best Dressed Bunnies'. It was a great spectacle on a lovely day and we would like to thank everyone who entered, especially those who entered into the fun of dressing up for the occasion." On receiving the donation for St. Catherine's Hospice from President of Caterham Rotary, Mike Smith, Victoria Lawrence said: "It was a privilege to be part of the Bunny Fun Run last year. This wonderful donation will make a huge difference to local people and their families, friends and carers. Thank you very much." Last year Caterham Rotary were pleased to have the support of The Caterham and District Independent, Catax Ltd., Ross Cycles, BCL Systems, Indulgence Confectionery, Waitrose and Tandridge District Council. If you would like to sponsor next year's event please call Richard York on 01883 342001. Full details of how to enter next year's Fun Run will be published in the January 2011 edition of The Caterham and District Independent. |
