Skaterham skate park in Caterham-on-the-Hill received a boost to its funds recently, when they were presented with a cheque at a meeting of Caterham Round Table. The sum of ¡ê2,308.76 was raised following a sponsored bike ride at Kenley Aerodrome last summer, inspired by nine year-old Alex Edge, son of Round Table member, Simon Edge. Alex heard that the skate park needed to raise ¡ê30,000 for a new toilet block and wanted to do something to help. During the evening, Marilyn Payne, Darren Barnes and 14 year-old Ollie Temple- Milnes from Skaterham gave a presentation about the history of Skaterham and explained how important fundraising was to keep Skaterham as a lasting facility for the community.
