Members of The Soper Hall Group, part of the Caterham Community Partnership were in Caterham on Saturday 15th January collecting signatures for a petition to 'Save the Soper Hall'. The signatures will be presented at a meeting of the Resources Committee of Tandridge District Council on 24th January. The council will be making the vital decision about whether or not to proceed with the transfer of the building to the Caterham Community Partnership so that it can be used for the benefit of the wider community. One alternative would be for the site to be sold to developers which could result in the demolition of the historic building to provide residential property.
