On Sunday, 30th January, 250 runners of all abilities took part in the first ever Kenley 10k Race held at Kenley Aerodrome. The runners braved the crisp weather and chilling crosswind to complete just over three circuits of the perimeter track. The race, sponsored by Caterham business Ross Cycles, attracted runners from across the South East as well as local athletes and recreational runners.

For many it was their first visit to Kenley Aerodrome and the sight of the gliders taking off and landing in the middle of the field was an unusual distraction! The event was in aid of Help for Heroes, making the venue with its wartime heritage especially meaningful for all those who took part.

Ross Mutrie, owner of Ross Cycles and his friend Cedric Crooks were amongst the first wave of runners to cross the finishing line.

Ross said: "The race has proved to be really popular and was fully-subscribed. There has been a great atmosphere and I'm delighted that this is to be a new annual event."
