Whyteleafe F.C. unfortunately struggled for attendances last season. On several occasions the Ryman Division One South outfit suffered attendances of fewer than 100. For a club who used to average over 200 a game not so long ago, this is a very disheartening statistic for Leafe fans. I have been a Whyteleafe fan for three years and have followed the club home and away. Watching Whyteleafe is a very enjoyable part of my life; I have gained many friends and met lots of new people. The fans of Whyteleafe play a huge role in keeping the club ticking over. Leafe fans voluntarily write the programme, control car parking, make matchday announcements on the tannoy and work on the turnstile to help the club. The amount of effort the fans put into the club would be even more worthwhile if attendances were to improve. Whyteleafe have been an inconsistent side all season and Leafe games nearly always guarantee goals. There is always a friendly and positive atmosphere at the matches and enthusiastic chanting. Leafe fans are a unique bunch of people and can often be heard at home and away games singing a variety of songs. Whyteleafe F.C. play in one of the most attractive settings in non-league football. Entry is just £8 for adults and £5 for concessions. You can also buy an extremely unique and humourous programme for just £1, written by the fans, for the fans. The new season starts in August, so why not come and help your local club and watch a game one Saturday afternoon? Watching Whyteleafe is a great way to get involved with the local community and meet new people. For all the latest goings on at the Leafe, visit http://www.theleafe.co.uk/ |
